Kings of Convenience Rules
The Highs | & the lows
Lots of highs and lows for getting to Kings of Convenience's concert. Warning!: Long entry ahead!
So the lows: I didnt manage to get KoC concert tix as they were all sold out! So i was all sad & disappointed for a long while whenever i hear my frens talking going to KoC concert. Kept thinking how lucky they were to be going. Later i heard that Erlend Oye was have a DJ set the night before the concert and my other frens who also didnt get KoC tix wanted to go for that. found out that tix were also sold out for that too. Le sad! My bf who 1st introduced KoC to me years ago with "I dont know what i can save you from" made me a fan instantly back then. He is the only 1 i share the love for KoC songs with and he flew back to Melbourne for work. I thought to myself its ok nevermind its fated.
Then things took a change... my bf flew back for good. Got i job. Tix for Erlend Oye were available again. Loon had an extra pair of tix for KoC to sell and he asked me! So Me n Vinc get to go for both nights - Erlend Oye & King of Convenience! *happiness*
So i thought that had used up all of my luck....
Came Wed night, Vinc & i went for Erlend Oye Dj set. Tix came with t coupon for 1 standard drink.... woohooo it look like a mini club with a bar. Nice! Silly us thought that (being Singapore) it was just a set that everyone would be standing around and watching him spin. Not only did he mix tracks, he sang while mixing and hearing him sing the 1st sentence live i nearly cried! His voice was so beautiful. I was starstruck! i waved to him when i was closer to the set and he waved back to me! Erlend set was really fun, he was doing actions the lyrics of some songs, singing on the chair and table, dancing behind the decks and even came down to dance with the audience! My starstruck legs were rooted to the floor and i couldnt make it over to shake his hand or dance near him! I left regretting that and also not bring my camera !
Thur. Found out from Loon that we were sitting at row D. ROW D!!! thats near and our seats were nearer to Erlend's side! hee! And tonight i had my camera and i recorded a few short clips! I was having goosebums hearing them sing live. As in their song Homesick " I can't stop listening to the sound of two soft voices blended in perfection " which they sang with the lights off was a surreal experience. When they started strumming "I dont know what i can save you from" i believe i was in heaven to be able to hear it live with Vinc. They got us singing, whislting, humming and dancing along with them. Song after song the performance was getting me higher & higher until they said it was the last song they are performing. Erlend even walked off saying that "Eirik can do the song very well without him" Eirik started strumming "I'd rather dance with you" and Erlend voice came out from behind the curtains. Erlend then appeared back on stage dancing and asked everyone to stand and dance with him. Then he invited people to come on stage to dance with them. "once in a lifetime experience" as he puts it. Like last night i was rooted to the ground but Loon pulled and pushed me to the stage stairs but the security dude refused to let the us up though Erlend was saying " its ok! let them up". I saw Erlend trying to pull this girl up by the side and i decided to climb on from there and not regret not go up later! It was kinda blur when i got on stage (maybe coz i was forgetting to breathe and was getting high being oxygen deprived!) Dont know how i got grab by this girl and made join the rest of the girls in a folky circle dance *super embarrassing* But all this drama was worth, when the song ended Erlend turn towards the girls, moved towards us with open arms and a big smile (I'll never forget this look!) while giving us all a hug. I got to hug Eirik too. My heart was beating so hard and i was still shaking when i came down from the stage. That was the highest point of my night i really think i've used up all my luck for the year! Thanks to Loon for the selling me the tix and pulling my starstruck rooted legs out of the ground and onto the stage! Heres a photo of starstuck looking me from Life! I heart Kings Of Convenience

| A Late Happy Lunar New Year to all

Yap I MIA. Was busy and if i was at my comp I had to rush some work and off I was again. Photos of all the activites are on my multiply. Uploaded about 6 albums... (theres more) Hope everyone is having a great CNY. I know some of you guys are in the festive gambling mood and 1 person is wining alot!!! Well as long as everyone is having fun.
